Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, has assured the public of the commission’s readiness to conduct the general elections on December 7, 2024.

Addressing the media during a stakeholder engagement at the EC’s headquarters on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the EC Chairperson stated that the voters' register has been distributed to the various constituencies across the country after its completion.

She added that the ballot papers are nearly complete, with the Bono, Bono East, and Northern regions yet to receive delivery of their papers.

“As we speak, we have completed the preparation of our voters register and have been disseminated across the country. We are also at near completion with the preparation of our ballots for the presidential and parliamentary elections. All the ballots with the exception of the Northern, Bono and Bono East regions have been disseminated to our police armories across the country,” she said.

Jean Mensa highly commended the security services for their support in ensuring a smooth process during the printing and distribution stages.

“I’m well aware that the ballot papers for the Bono, Bono East and Northern Regions will be sent to the police armories this afternoon. We would like to thank the police and army for their support and remaining with us throughout this process. As we may be aware in each of our printing houses, we have not only the political party agents but we also have members of the police service and the army service accompanying us and observing the process along with us,” she added.

Ghana will go to the polls on December 7, 2024, to elect a president and parliamentary candidates.
