Former Attorney General Ayikoi Otoo has criticised the Electoral Commission for breaching its own rule of natural justice by disqualifying some 13 presidential hopefuls from contesting the upcoming December polls.
Mr. Ayikoi Otoo who is leading the Progressive Peoples Party in a battle to have its flag bearer's disqualification in the upcoming polls overturned has stated that the Commission erred by not giving nominees the opportunity to rectify errors on their nomination forms.
The Electoral Commission last week disqualified some 13 presidential hopefuls from contesting this year's elections due to anomalies with their nomination forms.
Presidential candidates of the PPP, PNC, APC and several others were all disqualified for failing to meet the criteria set out in CI 94.
But the astute lawyer and leading member of the NPP is of the view the Electoral Commission's decision to disqualify the PPP's presidential candidate and 12 others was unfair.
