Electricity Company of Ghana has explained reasons for Tuesday's power outage
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has clarified that recent power outages in parts of the country are due to damage caused by a heavy rainstorm.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the electricity supply company stated:
"The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform its cherished customers and the general public that the outage being experienced today, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in some parts of the country is a result of faults caused by heavy rainstorms," the statement reads.
ECG records highest-ever monthly revenue
The statement further assured Ghanaians and the general public that its outfit is working assiduously to restore power supply.
"ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our Engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply," it added.
