Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere (EGLE) on Thursday condemned recent political violence which resulted in murder of at least three people and destruction of property in the Gushiegu District of the Northern Region.

A statement signed by Mr Kojo Bismark, General Secretary of the party, also condemned the scuffle between the security detail of President John Agyekum Kufuor and the bodyguards of Professor John Atta Mills, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress at a festival in Cape Coast last weekend.

While calling for the prosecution of perpetrators of such acts, the party called on government to use all the force at its disposal to maintain peace and order.

It also urged all peace loving Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be used by self-seeking politicians to commit such acts, which would plunge the country into instability as the December general elections drew near.

It called on the Electoral Commission to discharge its functions without fear or favour.
