The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has rescued seven Nigerians believed to have been trafficked into Ghana for involvement in prohibited cyber activities.
The operation, dubbed operation LIFELINE, was carried out on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Mataheko-Afienya.
In a press release dated November 17, 2025, EOCO officials arrested ten individuals during the exercise, comprising three suspects and seven victims, all of whom are Nigerian nationals.

“During the operation, ten (10) individuals were arrested; three (3) suspects and seven (7) victims, all Nigerian nationals. The ages of the victims range from 17 to 30 years”, the statement said.
The victims, aged between 17 and 30, were reportedly enticed to Ghana with promises of employment but were later subjected to harsh and exploitative conditions.
According to EOCO, the suspects compelled the victims to engage in online fraud schemes and other illegal cyber operations once they arrived in the country.

The Office has encouraged the public to report suspicious activities through its official hotlines and advised landlords to conduct thorough background checks when renting out their properties, especially to foreign nationals.
EOCO reiterated its commitment to combating cybercrime and warned individuals involved in such illegal activities to desist or face arrest and prosecution.
