Ghanaians continue to mourn the tragic accident in East Legon that claimed the lives of two young girls, Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Loved ones have been paying tribute to the victims and their families by decorating the crash site with bouquets of roses and heartfelt handwritten notes in their memory.
Images exclusively obtained by GhanaWeb from the scene show a cross adorned with flowers leaning against a transformer, with several roses carefully arranged around it.
One of the handwritten notes reads, "Forever in our hearts. Sleep well, beautiful angels. You didn’t deserve to suffer this way at all. May God receive and keep your beautiful souls safe in heaven."
Meanwhile, a candlelight vigil has been organized to honour Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu.
The vigil, titled the "All White Candlelight Vigil," is scheduled for Friday, October 18, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The ceremony will invite loved ones and the community to gather at the crash site to remember the two young women.
Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu were tragically killed in a fatal car crash in East Legon, Accra, when Elrad Salifu Amoako, the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, crashed his Jaguar 4×4 into the Acura they were traveling in.
The crash has shocked the nation, igniting widespread outrage and conversations about reckless driving and road safety.
The accident occurred late on October 12, when Elrad Salifu Amoako reportedly lost control of his vehicle and collided with the Acura.
Both Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu were pronounced dead at the scene, marking a heartbreaking end to two promising young lives.
