Elrad Amoako, the 16-year-old son of Archbishop Salifu Amoako, has been remanded in custody once more following his appearance before the Accra Juvenile Court.
Elrad was arrested after his involvement in a fatal accident at East Legon on October 12, 2024.
According to GHOne TV’s Instagram report, the court has scheduled his next appearance for November 13, 2024.
This remand follows initial proceedings on November 1, during which the conditions of his custody were outlined. The court ordered Elrad to surrender his Ghanaian and U.S. passports by November 4 and to undergo a medical review at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on the same day.
The court also mandated provisions for urgent medical care, stipulating that Elrad should be taken to the Police Hospital for immediate treatment if any health issues arise during his remand.
What happened?
The incident occurred when Elrad Salifu Amoako, driving a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20), lost control and collided with a 4x4 Acura vehicle (GR 2542-23). Both vehicles caught fire, resulting in the deaths of two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, who were in the Acura.
Following the accident, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested on October 15 and later granted bail of ¢50,000 each.
Meanwhile, the victims, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh have since been laid to rest.
