In Kumasi, Primate Seth K. Adofo, Spiritual Head of Brotherhood Church has called on politicians to be cautious of their public utterances and refrain from acting on emotions.

He said as they campaigned for votes, they must watch their tongues and reflect on whatever they say; whether that could provoke anger or bring about peace and unity to the people.

Primate Adofo, who was delivering a sermon at a special Church Service to mark Easter at the Church's Headquarters on Sunday said, as the nation prepares for the general elections, there was the need for all Ghanaians to think about peaceful transition and understanding of purpose in all that goes on in the country.

The Spiritual Head stressed the need for all Ghanaians, especially Christians not to allow political and tribal sentiments to divide their ranks but rather let Christ's death and resurrection reconcile them and God to heal the wounds of the nation.

He said, as Christians, they should be submissive and obey the laws of the land and try to play their respective roles to enhance nation building, adding that, they avoid petty conflicts that would not help the nation in any way.

Primate Adofo emphasized the fact that as people celebrate Crucifixion and the Resurrection of Christ there was the need for absolute forgiveness and total forgetfulness of sins because Christ's death had brought unity, eternal love and everything necessary for their redemption.

He stressed the need for all Christians to try to remain righteous in their lives to attain spiritual perfection in the Lord, adding that, they should go out and teach people to love God and keep to His commandments.

At Aflao, Rev Father Emmanuel Amedzi, Priest of the Aflao Border Area Branch of the Roman Catholic Church on Easter Sunday noted that just as Christ overcame death his true followers could also overcome their difficulties.

Rev Amedzi, who was delivering the sermon said Christians needed to propagate the good message of the resurrection by remaining selfless, humble, kind and truthful.

He entreated Christians to be law abiding in the manner that Christ obeyed his Father to endure pain during the crucifixion in fulfilment of the divine plan.
