In Tamale, Christians have been called upon to pray for national unity ands harmony to promote nation building and peace in the country. They should also let their hearts rise to be comforted under their present circumstances to transform them to emulate Jesus Christ who went through dehumanizing and humiliating process on the Cross for the sins of mankind.

The Reverend Father Manfred Mawuena Fiakpui, Head Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church in Tamale said this in a sermon on Easter Sunday to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ. "Jesus has risen and there is therefore the need Christians to let their hearts rise and see the things above so that they would be comforted under their present sorrow to be able to forgive one another and live in harmony", he said.

He said, this was the time for Christians to resurrect things that were in disunity in their family and the country as a whole by constantly committing themselves in prayer for prosperity in the country.

Rev. Father Thaddeus Kuusa, Roman Catholic Father at the Sacred Heart Parish at SSNIT flats in the Tamale Metropolis said there was the need for Christians to reflect on their lives and make the resurrection of Christ, hope to the homeless and to serve as a foundation of faith and victory over death.

He said God loves mankind, adding; "That is why he came to die for our sins and though Christians living now were not there at the time and through Baptism we are transformed and we are expected to live lives worth emulation."
