Koforidua, Sept. 3, GNA - Opanin Adusei Peasah, Organizing Secretary of the Canada branch of the Convention People's Party (CPP), said on Friday that the growth of the party would depend on hard work and "wise counsel" from the Council of Elders.

He therefore appealed to members of the Council of Elders of the party to gear up to the challenge and to settle all disputes in the party to enable it to position itself well for the 2012 general election.

Opanin Peasah, who was swearing in the Eastern Regional branch of the Council of Elders of the CPP at a ceremony in Koforidua on Friday, called for unity among members to enable the party win the 2012 election.

He said Ghanaians were yearning for the CPP to come to power to continue the "unfinished works" of late President Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Opanin Peasah therefore advised party supporters not to do anything that could disappoint Ghanaians adding that it was time for the CPP to take its rightful place in Ghanaian politics.

Nana Owusu-Sekyere, the Chairman of the Eastern Regional Council of Elders, thanked all for the confidence reposed in them and gave the assurance that they would live up to expectation.

He advised members to embark on house-to-house campaign to sell the "good ideals" of the CPP to the people, especially the youth.

Other members of the council are Oheneba Amofa, Vice chairman, Mr Kwabena Apea, Secretary and L.H. Nii Odoi, Organizer.
