He said the new 6000 capacity Temple is ready while other facilities such as accommodation have been arranged for to ensure the success of the event.

He said apart from Eckankar members, “all others are invited to come and listen to the speakers and experience the love of God.”

On the benefits of the seminar, he explained that the speakers would aid the participants to find keys to happier life and to strengthen their spiritual consciousness with God.

Touching on the issue of same-sex marriage in Ghana from Eckankar’s position, Dr. Dufu said Eckankar supports same-sex marriage because the religion does not infringe on people’s rights.

“At Eckankar we do not discriminate sexual orientation of people, so long as it is in harmony with life and the law supports it, we will support it” he posited.

Dr Dufu, asserted that should it be passed into law in Ghana today, Eckankar holds no view contrary to its approval but to accept it in good faith. But pushing for its legalization in Ghana, he said is not the priority of Eckankar since “our laws does not support it”

“As far as Eckankar is concerned we don’t really have a stand on this, we work in a country where it is not accepted, and we go with that law. If we work in a country where it is accepted as law, we work with it” Dr. Dufu stated.

The 2015 Eck Regional Seminar would be a forum where members would give testimony about the power of the Holy Spirit and how it works in their lives.

Eckankar is a religion that teaches about the spiritual exercise that one must do to experience the Light and Sound of God by singing the word HU to move individuals to a greater state of consciousness for the realization of the Holy Spirit in one's life.

It believes in Kama, the spiritual law of cause and effect, that is, one reaps what one sows, and the concept of reincarnation.
