Kwamena Essilfie Adjaye, Economist
Renowned economist Kwamena Essilfie Adjaye has died. Mr. Esilfie Adjei who was known for his contribution and analysis on the state of the Ghanaian economy reportedly died Thursday evening.
In a statement, the Convention People’s Party, of which he was a member said: “We received the sad news with some sought of a mixed feeling because we did not know whether to celebrate or mourn. You had been through severe pains throughout this process.
“To the best of our knowledge, we had the best times with you. I am personally glad to have come closer to you and played a part in your beautiful life on earth. When I visited you on your sick bed last week, your condition was not too pleasant. I had a first hand briefing from my colleague doctors who were handling you”.
The statement signed by the chairman of the CPP Professor Edmund Dele concluded: “You are arguable one of the best economist our country has ever had. Until your demise, you were the Chairman of the ways and means committee of our great party, CPP. You will be missed comrade Essilfie Adjaye. Rest in perfect peace. You deserve rest”.
