Editor In 200,000 Dollar Contract Scandal

Tue, 5 Jun 2012 Source: The New Free Press

After parading himself as a champion of truth and accountability and holding himself up as someone who can do no wrong and a man who is whiter than white, the cup of corruption and sinful pleasures, that has been passed around like the pope holding communion by President Mills and his NDC ministers, has finally reached no other person than Mr Larry Dogbey, the editor of the Herald Newspaper and strong supporter of the President .

The New Free Press, after careful and painstaking investigations, was very shocked to find that Mr Larry Dogbey is heavily involved in a 200,000 dollar contract scandal involving the supply of police uniforms and radio equipment to the Ghana Police Service. Mr Dogbey has been paid an amount of 200,000 dollars into his bank account at HFC bank yet he has not supplied a single uniform or radio equipment to the Police .

The facts are Mr Larry Dogbey through his company Larry Dogbey and Associates was able under strange circumstances and without going through any tender process able to secure a contract to supply police uniforms and radio equipment to the Ghana Police Service on the 12th of August 2011. Our checks show that the contract was awarded to him by Mr Kobby Acheampong, the Deputy Minister of Interior. There is no clear evidence that this contract went through tender neither was it gazetted in the national press.

Soon after securing this contract,Mr Larry Dogbey put in an invoice to the Ministry of Interior for a sum of 200,000 dollars representing advance payment for the uniforms and radio equipment. Although he has not delivered any product, An electronic transfer of 200,000 dollars was paid into his dollar Account at HFC Bank branch at Agbogbloshie. We have the documents to prove this and will make this known to the public in due course after clearing some issues with our lawyers.

The question we ask Mr Larry Dogbey ,the champion of truth and accountability is when will he supply the uniforms and the radio equipment to the police?

We also ask if it is good business practice to pay money to individuals when they have not delivered their side of a contract? Who authorised the payment of 200,000 dollars to Mr Larry Dogbey?

All those who think they can fool the people of Ghana by holding themselves as apostles of morality and holiness while engaging in corrupt practices, will be exposed and their skins peeled off like oranges. We are extremely disappointed in Mr Dogbey. We had so much respect for him, little did we know he is a crook and a criminal.

Mr Larry Dogbey, come out and tell the truth and return the 200,000 dollars you don’t deserve to the people of Ghana!
