Ghanaian footballer Edmund Baidoo marked his debut for Red Bull Salzburg with a goal as they cruised to victory in the Austrian ÖFB Cup on Wednesday evening.

The 18-year-old forward found the net in his first senior appearance as Salzburg overpowered lower-tier side Wiener Viktoria in a 4-0 triumph.

Salzburg wasted no time asserting dominance, with French midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath opening the scoring just 34 seconds in.

His quick finish was just a second shy of setting a new record for the fastest goal in the competition.

Baidoo, making his debut, struck the second goal in the 36th minute.

After his initial effort was parried by the Viktoria goalkeeper, the Ghanaian pounced on the rebound to head it over the line, doubling the lead.

A third came from an own goal by Viktoria's defender Franz Sinner, and substitute Karim Konate capped off the scoring in the 85th minute after a pinpoint cross from Hendry Blank.

Baidoo was signed by Salzburg this summer from Norwegian side Sogndal Fotball following an impressive spell in only his first season in Europe.
