Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Asokwa Constituency was on Saturday elected the First Vice Chairman of the constituency by party delegates.
Edmund Kyei romped home with 425 votes to win the enviable position when the party held its nationwide primaries.
It was all joy and ecstasy at the election venue when Mr Kyei was declared winner of the elections.
Speaking to journalists after the election, Mr Kyei thanked delegates for voting massively for him and assured that he would never let them down.
He promised to use his new position to campaign vigorously to ensure that President Akufo-Addo and the NPP are re-elected in 2020.
According to him, he would do everything possible to unite the rank and file in order to present a united front in 2020.
He promised to create a Health Endowment Fund at Asokwa to help cater for the health needs of members of the party, adding that he would also initiate roles to secure jobs for delegates.
Mr Kyei declared that the campaign for 2020 elections had started at the constituency and urged party members to begin one-one-one campaign with people they meet.
He is the immediate past Asokwa Constituency Director and played instrumental roles during the 2016 electioneering campaign period, which brought the NPP into power.
