The Western regional Director of Education, Enyonam Afi Amefuga on Wednesday April 5, 2017, went berserk, subjecting a female primary two teacher to severe lashes at Well-Road Methodist primary school at Sekondi.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.

According to an eye witness Ms. Amefuga stormed the school Wednesday demanding that the female teacher whose name has been given as Eva to explain her decision behind her canning two of her pupils.

Failure to justify her actions, Eva was subjected to her own dose by the regional Director of Education.

Commenting on the development in an interview with Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan, the Sekondi district Methodist pastor and manager of the school, Rev. Emmanuel Kwesi said he got to know of the incident Thursday morning.

But when he got to the school the atmosphere was calm and that there was no sign of commotion.

Nonetheless, he said there is the need to institute some more probe into the matter. He said efforts are being made to get in touch with the Regional Education Director to get her version of happenings.

Angered by the incident some of the teachers and the Sekondi GNAT have called on Ms. Amefuga to render an unqualified apology to their colleague for humiliating her.
