Accra, March 8, GNA - The Minister of Education, Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, will on Tuesday meet Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Dufuor and the Controller and Accountant General, Mr. Raphael Tuffuor in an urgent effort to address the anomalies arising from the migration of teachers onto the Single Spine Salary Structure. This is in furtherance to President John Atta Mills' assurance in his 54th Independence Day address that the anomalies will be rectified 93very soon."
A statement issued and signed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa,Deputy Minister of Information said the meeting 93will fashion out a solution to the technical errors that occurred in the payment of the February salary and allowance of teachers."
The statement indicated that Mrs. Mould Iddrisu was also expected to hold separate emergency meetings with the leadership of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
The statement urged all teachers to remain calm as government worked tirelessly to resolve their concerns.
