Effiakuma, Jan 19, GNA - The Very Reverend Kow B. Egyir, Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church, has said sound information and communication training for the youth is paramount in the country's pursuit for technological advancement.
He appealed to churches, individuals and organisations to take the training of its members in Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) more seriously.
Bishop Egyir said these at the commissioning of a multi-million-cedi computer school for the Effiakuma Circuit of the Methodist Church on Sunday.
He said current trends and the demands of the job market make it mandatory for every individual to have some basic knowledge about computer.
Bishop Egyir also appealed to members of the church to patronise the school.
The Very Rev. Daniel Degraft-Brace, Superintendent Minister of the Circuit, said the school was established to provide basic knowledge in computer skills and also provide employment opportunities for some members of the church. He said churches should not focus all their attention on spiritual matters to the neglect of the physical well being of their members.
