Eight in critical condition following accident on Tema Motorway

Eight persons are in critical condition at the Tema General Hospital after they were involved in an accident on the Accra Tema Motorway on Friday afternoon.

The victims who were on board Nissan Urvan bus were traveling from Afram plains to attend a funeral at Ningo in Greater Accra when their car was hit by a truck loaded with ceiling panels which tried to overtake them.

The victims suffered varying degrees of injuries with some of them sustaining multiple fractures while others suffered head injuries.

There were fifteen people on board the vehicle including five children.

The incident occurred few meters after the community 18 junction.

Speaking to Oman News one of the victims Faustina Akwertey she said their driver overtook the truck and after few minutes the truck driver also attempted to over take them but failed and in the process hit their car and pushed them into the gutter in the median of the road.

According to her, her little girl had a cut on the right arm.
