Ejisu By-Election: NPP leaders are sharing money everywhere – Aduomi

Ing. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the independent parliamentary candidate for the Ejisu by-election, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to influence voters with money.

He criticised the alleged vote-buying by NPP members, including party leaders, as disgraceful.

Speaking to the media at a by-election polling station, Aduomi expressed his surprise at the party's tactics of distributing money to gain an advantage over an independent candidate like himself.

"The truth is that NPP members are handing out money. Wherever you go, you can see MCEs and DCEs distributing money.

"They are indeed giving out money, and I am ashamed for them... because a whole governing party is competing against an independent candidate, and they have to give out money to surpass the candidate. This is a disgrace to the integrity of the election process," he said in Twi.

Regarding his chances, the parliamentary aspirant stated that he would win if the election remained fair.

Aduomi also expressed his satisfaction with the electoral process, noting the absence of violence at the polling stations.

He praised the Ghana Police Service and the Electoral Commission of Ghana for doing a good job.

Vote counting has commenced at most polling stations for the by-election.

Other candidates include Esther Osei of the CPP, Kwabena Boateng of the NPP, Beatrice Boakye of the LPG, and independents Gabriel Agyemang Joseph and Attakorah Joseph.
