The Nkosuohene of Ejisu, Nana Kofi Poku, has said the teacher associations and the PTA of the Ejisuman Senior High School are to be blamed for the sex scandal at the school.
According to him, he only made the issue public because the teacher associations and the PTA had come to see him to resolve the issue privately.
The chief said he was neither contacted by the teacher associations nor the PTA when the issue came up.
Nana Poku told host of Kumasi Morning Show, Akwesi Agudey, on Kumasi104.1FM on Thursday, 5 April 2018, that the teacher associations and the PTA defended the teachers accused of sexually harassing the female students, and dismissed his claims suggesting that he was peddling falsehood.
He said the adamant posture exhibited by the teachers of the school, is what resulted in the indictment of the teachers.
The chief indicated that he was reluctant to publicise the issue, thus, his initial petition to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate the matter.
Eight teachers and one non-teaching staff of the school have been indicted for sexual harassment by a Fact-finding committee set up by the GES.
