The Electoral Commission (EC) has declined a request from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for a live telecast of the party’s observation of the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR).
In a letter dated September 5, 2024, and signed by Dr. Bossman Eric Asare, Deputy Chairman of Corporate Services, the EC stated that while it remains fully committed to conducting free, fair, transparent, peaceful, and credible elections, it does not agree to the proposal for a live broadcast of the meeting.
“The Commission is absolutely committed to free, fair, transparent, peaceful, and credible elections; however, the Commission does not accept the proposal for a live broadcast of this meeting," the letter stated.
The EC assured the NDC that its team is prepared to meet with them at the agreed time to discuss matters related to the Provisional Voter’s Register.
