The Elevate Women Network, on Saturday, July 6, rounded up its nationwide outreach programme where it has been reaching out to Ghanaians who have turned 18, and encouraging them to take full advantage of the ongoing EC’s limited voter registration exercise to get their names on the voters roll, and also educating them on their civic duties.

The group, as part of this outreach, and cognizant of the hectic registration processes occasioned by the long unending queues that registrants go through, provided the registrants as well as party representatives with warm meals with the view to, among other things, incentivizing them to persevere in asserting their civic rights and responsibility. The group, had, within the week, served over appx 3000 warm meals to registrants in the Eastern Region as well as in Greater Accra.

In the Eastern Region, members of the group toured registration centers in Asuogyaman, whereas their Greater Accra outreach tour saw them visiting Tema, Ashaiman, Ayawaso West, Odododiodo, Ablekuma North and South, Kokomlele. Similarly, the group made a monetary donation in support of the registration exercise in Gomoa West District of the Central Region.

The Elevate Women Network is a women’s group affiliated with the governing NPP, which was formed primarily to elevate the stature of Ghanaian women and encourage their active participation in politics and governance, through education, networking and mentoring. Currently, the group operates in close partnership with the NPP Greater Accra Regional Youth Wing, and supported by Moses Abor, the party’s regional youth organizer in the region.

The Founder and President of the Elevate Women Network, Miss Lydia Atiemo, Deputy CEO of YEA, who spoke to the media after the outreach exercise, maintained that her group will continue to reach out to the Ghanaian youth especially first time voters, adding that, the Elevate Women Group is committed to, first of all, the feminine agenda, and also helping project the good works of the government of President Akufo-Addo.
