Eleven charged with dealing in drugs

Ama Abrefi, 32, described as a hardened drug addict, and 10 others appeared before a Kumasi Circuit Court on last week charged with possessing drugs. The accused were arrested in a police swoop on drugs pedlars, operating at a hide-out popularly known as "Dinka Islands" in the Alla Bar area in Kumasi. The accused were found with parcels of dried leaves and powdered substances believed to be Indian hemp, heroin and cocaine.
