Jamasi (Ash), Dec 1, GNA - All the deaf and dumb students at the Jamasi School for the Deaf in the Afigya-Sekyere District have pledged their support for President John Agyekum Kufuor and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency through an interpreter, the students said they were impressed by the development that had taken place during the relatively short period of the NPP Administration. The deaf made their intentions known when the NPP Women's Wing at Folksline in the Kumasi Central Market presented items and cash totalling about eight million cedis to the school at Jamasi at the weekend.

The items included two bales of second hand blankets, one bale of used bed sheets, foodstuffs and beverages.

The deaf students said their support for the NPP did not stem from the donation to their school but that it was a genuine support for the Government.

"Though we cannot hear what people say about the Government yet we can see the development projects the Government has undertaken within its four years in office."

Mrs Mary Brobbey, Chairperson of the Folksline Secondhand Clothes Dealers branch of the NPP, who presented the items, told the students of the NPP Government's determination to continue with its good work.
