The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah and the District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr Kwesi Bonzo have resolved to partner and work together for the good and development of the Ellembelle District in the Western Region.

Announcing their commitment at a press conference, after a closed door meeting on Monday, the MP and DCE assured the constituents that they would collaborate and work together despite belonging to different political parties, to fast track the development of the area.

The MP said they have decided to collectively work towards the progress and development of the district in the area of education, infrastructure, health and roads, adding that, "the interest of this district does beyond politics".

Mr Buah said the gesture would also motivate members of the constituency to genuinely strife for an improved district, saying that, "Our interest is tied. If the DCE succeeds, the Ellembelle District would be the winner".

Mr Bonzo described the MP as his senior brother, who has garnered a lot of experience in governance as an MP, Minister of Energy and subsequently Petroleum Minister in the previous administration.

He said he was prepared to learn from the MP, cooperate with him, take initiatives together and rally the people around the common vision to drive the district forward.

"We both know the problems of the district and therefore we have resolved to work together in the interest of our people and the Assembly," he said.

Explaining how the initiative could be supported by all the key stakeholders in the district, the DCE said the media would play an important role to spread the success story of the two officials.

Mr Bonzo said the challenges facing the district assembly required an all hands on deck approach and urged the constituents to commit to the goals and aspirations of their initiative to speed up the development of the district.

"Our resolve to collaborate is to send a positive signal to the rest of the country that Ellembelle can boast of the best materials, willing to serve the country with humility and total commitment."

Mr. Bonzo said merging the two political parties in the interest of development was a novelty, "it rarely happens, even in the same political party, you have the DCE and the MP struggling to work together but We believe we can cooperate to grow our district".
