Ohwim (Ash), May 26, GNA - The Ministry of Communications has been urged to support and encourage the establishment of technology parks in the various communities to enhance information, communication and technology education in the country.

Mr Amankwaah Frimpong, the acting Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator of the National Youth Council (NYC), who made the call, said the establishment of the technology parks would provide the majority of the youth easy access to computers for learning.

Mr Frimpong was inaugurating the Power Line Fan Club, a benevolent social organisation at Ohwim near Bohyen within the Kumasi metropolis on Tuesday.

He charged the club to be development-oriented, saying, "The time has come for youth organisations to spearhead the development of their communities".

Mr Frimpong entreated them to work in unity and liaise with government agencies as well as non-governmental organisations to source funds to facilitate their activities.

Nana Adu Acheampong, Ohwimhene, commended the club for building two water cisterns for the community and assured them of his support in all their activities.

Mr Seth Torho, president of the club, announced that the club has drawn up a programme to build a community library and a shed at the bus stop for the community at the cost of 45 million cedis. 26 May 04
