Goaso (B/A) Oct. 13 (Credit Daasebre Wiafe) GNA - Nana Kwasi Baffour Bosomprah, the Omanhene of Goaso Traditional Area in Brong Ahafo, has called on the authorities of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation to help stop the encroachment on the land it acquired in the area for a television station. Speaking at a press conference at Goaso, the paramount chief expressed concern that some citizens were encroaching on the land, citing that the building for the station's workers, which was constructed some years ago, was being used as a girls' dormitory for the Ahafoman Senior High School. He added that accommodation for the station's district director and other junior staff had also been occupied by some people.

Part of the station's land was used for a Ghana @ 50 jubilee school project, he added, but stressed that, "even though it is good to use part of the land for the school project, it will pave the way for individuals and other organisations to encroach on the land."

Nana Bosomprah warned the encroachers to quit or be prepared to face the full rigours of the law.

He explained that since the creation of the Goaso district in 1912, the people had encountered difficulties trying to get quality reception of the national television.

"It is difficult to get good and clear pictures on television at Goaso since we receive our reception from Sunyani; and Sefwi Wiawso in the Western Region," Nana Bosomprah said and appealed to GBC to install the transmitter for them. 13 Oct. 09
