The Deputy Police Commander for Central Region, Mr.. Kwaku Siaw, has called on police officers in the region to provide good leadership and supervise their subordinates efficiently. He said officers should ensure that their personnel work hard within the confines of democratic practices and not to apply coercive measures in the discharge of their duties. Mr.. Siaw, who is an assistant commissioner of police, gave the advice at an annual end of year reception, popularly known as "Wassa", organised by the regional police command for officers and men of the service at the regional police headquarters at Cape Coast at the weekend. The deputy commander commended them for their sense of discipline and patriotism in the past year and urged them to improve upon their performance. Mr.. Siaw also called for co-operation between personnel of the criminal investigation department (CID) and their counterparts in uniform to prevent and detect crime. He commend the media for adequately covering operations of the police in the region and called for more co-operation between the two groups.
