Three Ambassadors and a High Commissioner accredited to Ghana on Thursday, presented their Letters of Credence to President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu.
They were; Mr Jab El-Hassan, Ambassador of Lebanon; Mr Gregorg Walinski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland and Mr Kim Pyong Gi, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea based in Abuja, Nigeria. The High Commissioner was Mr Momodou Kebba Jallow of the Gambia also based in Abuja, Nigeria.
President Kufuor asked them to improve on the performance of their predecessors and endeavour to strengthen the cordial relationship that had existed between Ghana and their countries.
They pledged to continue with the work of their predecessors to strengthen the relationship between their countries and Ghana.
The Ambassadors and the High Commissioner commended President Kufuor for his role as the Chairman of ECOWAS in the restoration of peace and stability within the West African Sub-Region.
Present was Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
President Kufuor made the call when Mr Kim Pyong Gi, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Ghana but based in Abuja, Nigeria presented his Letters of Credence at the Castle, Osu.
He said the interest of the people on the Peninsular and humanity should over-ride whatever considerations to facilitate disarmament and peace in the area.
"It is our wish that the people will make life easier for humanity. Ghana wants the United Nations to resolve the issue for a better global village", he said.
Mr Gi said Ghana was one of the first African countries to establish diplomatic relationship with the DPRK and the achievement made so far had been commendable.
