Esama of Benin receives John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama Friday, arrived in Benin City in the Edo State of Nigeria to yet another royal welcome by the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.

Mr. Mahama was scheduled to be honoured with a Doctorate Degree at a ceremony in Okada, also in Edo State, Saturday.

Chief Igbinedion described President Mahama, at a welcome dinner hosted in his honour, as his son, and thanked him for honouring him with the visit. Mr. Mahama also thanked the Esama of Benin for the love shown him since their first meeting in Kumasi and for his words of encouragement over the years.

Accompanying the former President are former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, former Senior Policy Adviser Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, former Minister for Education Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman, former Ministers for Gender, Children and Social Protection Nana Oye Lithur and former Minister for Food and Agriculture Muniru Mohammed- Limuna.
