Ethan Kwame Ampadu will return to Chelsea from RB Leipzig at the end of the 2019/2020 season when his loan deal expires, footballghana.com can report.
The England-born Welsh international who is of Ghanaian descent secured a season-long loan move to the German Bundesliga club in a bid to enjoy regular playing time.
Since joining the side, he has been restricted to 3 appearances in the Bundesliga plus a couple of stints in the DFB Pokal.
Though he has managed to make an impression, RB Leipzig is not willing to negotiate a permanent switch for the young defender.
According to sports director for the club Markus Krösche, the only loan players they are hoping to secure on a permanent basis are Patrik Schick and Angeliño. For Ethan Ampadu, he will return to England to play with the Blues under manager Frank Lampard.
