Ms Eva Lokko was a principled woman who took strong decisions and stuck to them, flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has said.
Ms Lokko passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from an illness.
In a tribute posted on Facebook, Dr Nduom who chose the former Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation as his running mate in the 2012 polls said: “Eva and I had promised each other not too long ago to put our health and personal lives before politics. She chose to serve the Ga people by representing them through Osu Klottey Korle in Parliament – that choice will now remain a dream deferred”.
According to him, “Eva took strong, principled positions and stuck to them. She was a strong voice, always reminding PPP youth to stick to our message, particularly our stand on incorruptible leadership. She was against insulting, disrespectful language and made that known to all. The PPP must be different in a positive way, she always said”.
As a result of her death, Dr Nduom has announced he is taking a break from his political campaigns and has, therefore, cancelled his scheduled broadcast to the nation on Saturday October 8. According to Dr Nduom, “There is more to life than politics”.
