Evalue-Gwira NDC hopeful of one touch victory

The Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched its campaign ahead of the December 7 polls.

The event which was held last Saturday was graced by party stalwarts from both regional and national levels amidst drumming pomp and pageantry and climaxed with the outdooring of the party’s parliamentary hopeful Mr. Kweku Tanikyi-Kessieh.

The Chairman for the occasion Prof Enu-Kwesi in his remarks urged all to consider the good works of the ruling NDC over the past three years in office and vote wisely to retain President Mahama and Mr. Kessieh as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.

He argued that the NDC was poised to bettering the lives of the people, hence the need for Ghanaians to vote for the party to enable it advance its good vision in serving them.

Touching on education, the learned educationist maintained that the NPP’s ‘Free Senior High School (SHS) policy was not feasible, adding that there was the need for laid-down measures that would seek to improve and strengthen the educational system of the country instead of relying on unachievable promises by some politicians.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nzema East Municipality, Rev James Ackah Cobbinah, hatched on the good programmes that has been initiated and implemented by the NDC government since assuming office.

These, he mentioned as improvement of both education and health systems in the area, rehabilitation of road networks and provision of potable water to several communities.

He implored the citizens of the area to count on the NDC’s track record over the years and vote massively to keep the Mahama led government in office in other to continue with its Better Ghana Agenda.

On his part, the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah cast doubts about the ability of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area in winning the seat for the second time saying the NPP was an alien to the people of Nzema.

He recalled that the downfall of Nzemas was orchestrated by the forefathers of the NPP, thus the Progress Party’s (PP) functionaries who arrested and imprisoned most of Nzema’s industrious sons for no reason.

Mr. Armah Buah who doubles as a Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum added that NPP is a party which is not worth entertaining by Nzemas since it has a bad track record of hampering developments in Nzemaland.

He encouraged the people of Evalue-Gwira to entrust their mandate in the NDC government and the Parliamentary hopeful.

“NDC as a party is made up of visionary leaders, thus we must not make the mistake of giving the NPP the chance.”

Mr. Kweku Tanikyi-Kessieh in his address promised to improve the lives of the people if given the nod.

He disclosed that, he will use his connections to lobby for more developmental projects that would raise the standards of living of the people and urged all to vote massively for him to bring to bear all his ideas.

The NDC after winning the seat in 2000 later lost it to Kojo Armah of the CPP in 2004, and has since been in the custody of the NPP.
