Security analyst, Bawa Abdul Jaleel, has urged Ghanaians to take their personal security as a priority.

According to him, many Ghanaians are quick to talk about terrorism but have always failed to take their own security into consideration.

Bawa Abdul Jaleel added that it is beyond the security agencies to monitor everybody in the country in the issue of terrorism. The Security Analyst therefore admonished Ghanaians to participate in looking out for suspicious individuals around them.

Jaleel Bawa was speaking at the Holy Spirit Cathedral Church at an event organized for Ushers on church security.

He said “… Everybody has to be involved in the issue of terrorism, it is not just about us talking about terrorism. It is about how we take our personal security as our priority in our daily activities”

“We only look at ourselves as spectators instead of seeing ourselves as participants our security system is such a way that the military, police and other security agencies cannot be everywhere when it comes to issue of who they have to monitor or put in place to be able to get information in regards to issues of terrorism. As citizens we should not be spectators but we should also be participants,” he added.

Ghana at the verge of terrorist attack

The expert further disclosed that Ghana is at the verge of been attacked by terrorist due to the increased rate of unemployment in the country.

He explained that the current challenges facing the nation may “influence the decision of the youth to fight against government.”

He thus called on Ghanaians to look out for such groups and report them to the security agencies to avoid attacks.

The Holy Spirit Cathedral church organized a training for Ushers and Security Committees in the Catholic Church.

The events sought to educate Ushers on what to look out for and how to handle situations in case of terrorism suspicion.

The event brought together Catholics from several districts in Accra.
