Ex-First Lady to address Conference on Women

Accra, April 26, GNA - Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, former First Lady, is in Abuja, Nigeria to address the International Conference on the African Women and Gender Development.

The six-day Conference dubbed " African Women 2004" is intended to highlight and deliberate on issues related to the development of African Women towards resolutions to monitor such developments across the Continent".


A statement issued from the Office of former President Jerry John Rawlings and signed by Nana Efua Essuah Mensah on behalf of the Director of Public Affairs, said Nana Konadu would speak on: "The Environment, Education and Empowerment."

It said Nana Konadu was invited to the Conference as a Special Guest of Honour of Mrs Amina Titi Atika Abubakar, wife of Nigeria's Vice President.
