The former Greater Accra regional Minister, Nii Armah Ashitey has asked the Interior Ministry to take seriously an assault case allegedly ordered by the MTTU Boss, ACP Angwubutoge Awuni.

Barely a month ago, Mr. Ashitey accused ACP Awuni for ordering policemen to assault and arrest him at a biometric registration center in Accra.

According to ACP Awuni, Mr. Ashitey was disrupting the registration process and only ordered police officers on duty to prevent him.

Earlier, Mr. Ashitey threatened legal action against the MTTU boss over the issue, but later referred the case to the Interior Ministry for further action.

The Greater Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Ade Coker also held a press conference to demand the immediate transfer of ACP Awuni.

However, speaking to XYZ News, the ex Regional Minister described the MTTU Boss as a danger to society and must be brought to book.

“I want the truth to be established, some investigations must be conducted because Awuni is claiming that I wanted to get him sacked which is a blatant lie”Mr Ashitey said.

“Awuni said that I was moving with macho men which is another lie because I was moving with my constituency organizer.

Awuni also said I was removing people from the line and interfering with the registration process leading to its suspension which is another blatant lie. I wonder what he wants to achieve by lying”. Mr Ashitey added.**
