The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been hit by examination leakage, akin to the recent one at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The registrar of the university, Mrs S. Quarshie-Sam, confirmed yesterday afternoon that there had been leakage of three papers in the ongoing second semester examinations in the College of Art and the Faculty of Social Sciences.
A statement from the registrar named the papers as Social Psychology ll, Law of Immovable Property ll and Human Resource Management ll.
Three persons, a teaching assistant and two students suspected to have played key roles in the act, are assisting the police and the university security in their investigations.
The affected papers have been cancelled, while arrangements have been put in place to have the papers retaken on May 16 and 17, 2005.
The statement said the Executive Committee of the Academic Board instituted investigations into suspected tampering of some examinations papers in the ongoing examinations following allegations of leakage.
According to the statement, the investigations proved that the allegations were true, which necessitated the cancellation of the papers.
