Two Chinese and a Ghanaian, have been arrested at an illegal gold mining site at Jejeti in the Anyinam District by the joint military/police taskforce - Operation Vanguard.
They security officers seized from them two excavators, a Toyota Hilux Pick-up, seven pumping machines and a generator.
A statement issued by Squadron Leader Omane Agyei, Public Relations Officer, Operation Vanguard, said six washing were also immobilized by the taskforce.
The three – Li Gui Yi, Zhou Zhi M and Eric Amoah, have been handed over to the police in Anyinam for further investigations and prosecution.
The statement called for increased public support to rein in those who had chosen to defy the ban on illegal mining.
It underlined the unswerving determination of the officers and men to go after everybody destroying the environment through illegal mining.
