THE CHAIRMAN of the Igbo Community in Ghana, Chief Godwin O. Chukwu, has implored the Ghanaian Government to give life jail terms to convicted Nigerian criminals or summarily execute them via firing squad when caught, as they are a disgrace to Nigeria and does not deserve freedom.
Chief Chukwu who made this plea in an interview with THE SUN during a launch of the Igbo Community’s Constitution recently at King Solomons Gardens in Dansoman, Accra lamented that such people were tarnishing the good name and image of the law-abiding Nigerians residing in Ghana and other countries, claiming that most of them were drug barons, armed or unarmed robbers, 419s, among others, unlike resident with genuine business who not just mingles socially with their hosts “but responsible people who are married with the daughters of the land.”
He therefore called on the alleged criminals to change their bad habits before it is too late “as I can’t come for their defence.”
He however advised those parading themselves as Igbo leaders to wait patiently until his four year term expires and a new leader emerging after an election if “I am not re-elected for a second term.”

Mokwogwo (Ichie Gburugburu),chief launcher who bought the first copy for ¢10 million urged members of the community to be law-abiding and one another’s keeper, adding that non-members should try and join them for the unity of the community that the constitution intends to achieve. Mokwogwo who is the Chairman of Anambra State Progressive Union and philanthropist later conferred the title of Igbo Ambassador to Dr. Marcus Onyekachi Kalu - a businessman.
