Following the recent brouhaha as to whether the former seat of government is a security zone or not, the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board is insisting that the Osu Castle now a tourist site.

According to the board, the Castle's garden is now an event grounds which people rent and use for their private events.

The Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, Kingsley Ofosu Ntiamoah during a tour at the Castle indicated that the Castle has hosted many dignitaries including the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II and her son Prince Charles.

Mr Ntiamoah observed that at the credential hall of the Castle, the former Presidents were receiving their envoy and when it was announced that the Castle was now a presidential museum and leadership centre in 2017 by President Akufo-Addo, the first photo exhibition was held at the credential.

The hall where President Nkrumah signed documents to finalise the independence of Ghana, still has the same interior decoration with the furniture arranged just as it was that day.

According to MR Ntiamoah, popular musicians, Sarkodie and Becca have even used that particular spot for a video with Becca.
