Accra, Oct. 03, GNA- Food and Drugs Board has assured the general public of necessary regulatory measures to ensure that milk products on the market are safe for consumption. In a press statement, the FDB said despite the ban on importation of Infant Formulae and other products from China by a directive issued by the Ministry of Health and Trade, PSD and PSI, some business concerns were making frantic efforts to bring these products into the country through some unapproved routes. The statement said these products were likely to be presented in a manner to deceive unsuspecting consumers. The Board was therefore alerting the general public not to patronize unlabelled bulk milk powder; not to patronize products with defaced labelling; not to buy milk products with suspiciously looking packaging and also to avoid products whose prices had been drastically reduced. The Board further advised the general public to report to them or the Ghana Police Service anyone found attempting to repackage any product for sale to the general public.
