Several high-profile cases being prosecuted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) are returning to court following the Supreme Court’s decision on the constitutional mandate of the Office.

In an X post shared by the OSP on August 10, 2026, it said the trials had been halted since April 2026 following a High Court ruling concerning the OSP’s authority to prosecute.

1. The Republic v Mustapha Abdul-Hamid & 7 others

2. The Republic v Kenneth Ofori-Atta & 7 others

3. The Republic v Adjenim Boateng Adjei

4. The Republic v Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue & 2 Others

5. The Republic v Sumaila Abdul-Rahman & 3 others

Other individuals listed by the OSP

Two other individuals were listed without corresponding case details or hearing dates in the information available.

Ibrahim Kofi Sessah – Technician at the Local Government Service, Adeiso District.

Gloria Acquah – Nurse at Dansoman Polyclinic.

The return of the cases to court follows the legal uncertainty that arose after the April 2026 High Court ruling concerning the OSP’s prosecutorial authority.

The Supreme Court’s decision on the constitutional mandate of the Office has paved the way for the affected prosecutions to continue, bringing several cases that had been stalled since April back into the judicial process.
