A 5-day workshop for Facilitators from Accra and Kumasi on migration realities came to a fruitful end last Friday, 17th May.

Experts in Migration and integration from Hamburg took the prospective facilitators through Migration and Integration simulation exercises to deepen their understanding on the journeys of both regular and irregular migrants.

The Myth of Better Life In Europe is a collaborative project between Speech Forces Organisation and Ghana Union Hamburg with support from The Centre for International Migration and Development. It is the goal of the project implementors that, Ghanaians have accurate and sufficient information before embarking on a journey to Europe. With this project, they want to provide the full story about life in Europe.

"We would like to demystify the idea of “Europe: the paradise” by presenting the Myth of A Better Life in Europe" according to the Project Coordinator, Mr. Eric Awuah Asamoah.

At the end of the training, The two trainers, Felix Amoako Boampong and Laura Karrasch, from Hamburg,Germany were satisfied with the attitude and output of the trainees. They further charged them to replicate the same zeal and hardwork during the upcoming workshops in Accra and Kumasi for the larger Ghanaian populace.

Overall, the trainees were impressed by the general organization of the training. Most of them said they have improved their knowledge on migration and are ready to guide other young people in that regard.

Starting from June, there will be a series of workshops organized in Accra and Kumasi for young people and religious leaders in the next phase of the project.
