A failed parliamentary aspirant for Krowor, Daniel Alabi alias Blowman, has allegedly led a group of men to inflict multiple machete wounds on a Tema-based pastor.
Alabi who has been at warpath with the Agape Restoration Ministry Church over a parcel of land lying at Tema Community 9, on Wednesday led about 30 men to assault members of the church.
A video of the incident seen by 3News showed the former aspirant leading the armed men onto the disputed land on which the church is currently constructing an auditorium.
Wielding machete, stones and clubs, the men outnumbered the few church members and the head pastor, Rev. Ebenezer Arthur, who were present at the time of the incident.
They then attacked them after which the gang proceeded to destroy some properties of the church including one salon car.
Rev. Arthur sustained multiple machete wounds in the palm, wrist, the nose and the head. He has since been taken to a health facility where he is being treated. Other members of the church also sustained machete wounds.
Rev. Arthur was convinced the attack was orchestrated by the former NDC parliamentary aspirant.
The land, according to the Church, belongs to the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) but has secured the necessary documentations from the TDC to possess the said parcel of land which Alarbi has been fighting them for.

One person arrested
Detective lance corporal at the Community 18 Police Station, Dennis Abbey, told 3News one person has already been arrested for his role in the attack, noting investigations have started.
“It is a case that has been brought to our notice,” he said, adding “We have been to the church to see the extent of damage as well as visited the injured pastor. He is on admission at the damping Medical Centre at Spintex.
“We are waiting for the wife to take us to the suspect whom we understand is the former MP aspirant for the krowor municipality,” the corporal added.
Wife of the pastor, Diana Arthur who spoke to 3News said they want justice for her husband because in her view, the intention was to kill the husband over the disputed land.
“I was not around when the incident happened but I broke down when I saw my husband with blood all over. They came with the intention to kill him and I want justice to prevail. [In] this country everything is swept under the carpet. This time around I expect the police to act professionally,” she stated.
