Two persons who wore military uniform to rob a lotto receiver of GH¢400 have been dragged at an Accra Circuit Court.

Salaga Elisha, a security guard and Abass Mohammed, a driver, acted with four others who have gone underground since the two accused persons were apprehended by the police.

The two were put before a court presided over by Mr. Francis Obiri, where they were charged with conspiracy to commit crime, use of military uniform or accoutrement by unauthorized person and robbery.

They pleaded not guilty to the offences and have been remanded to re-appear on December 28, 2012.

The prosecuting officer, DSP Patrick Morkeh, who narrated events leading to the arrest of the accused persons, stated that the complainant, David Flavor, is a lotto receiver for National Lotteries stationed at Shaishie.

He said Salaga is an employee of Yutees Security Service, while Abass is a driver residing around 37 Military Hospital area, adding that on December 8, 2012, four persons, with some in uniforms, stormed the kiosk of the complainant.

According to him, they were armed with knives. They attacked the complainant for a cash sum of GH¢400 and headed towards a white waiting Nissan Urvan bus.

He said with the help of two witnesses, Forson Deku and Joseph Deku were nabbed, but the others managed to jump into the waiting bus and escaped with the booty.

Furthermore, the police officer stated that the accused persons were arrested and taken to the police station, where they admitted the offence and offered no tangible reason for their action.

In addition, he noted that the accused persons were arraigned after police concluded investigations
