The bereaved family of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, have lambasted a ‘local champion’ radio broadcaster for contradicting Police report on the slain army.
An audio report purportedly churned out last week by a local radio host suggested that, Major Mahama had spent three months in Upper Denkyira West District before his gruesome murder.
But the family of the late army Major, considers as irresponsible an audio voice put out, that appears to be that of a popular Akan radio host claiming that an earlier attempt was made by Denkyira youth in lynching some other more soldiers.
Speaking to the media today, the spokesperson for the affected family, Zakaria Sakara warned ‘loud mouth’ radio host churning out sensitive and yet false information about the murder case should desist and help police in their investigations.
The bereaved family’s spokesperson went ahead to cautioned some ‘irresponsible’ broadcasters, “as a radio host if you give out sensitive yet false information, you’re already preparing the minds of the public to reject the police report which will seriously affect final report into the murder”.
He also disclosed that, the wife and father of the late army officer are worried about ‘loose talks’ on radio into the murder; urging anyone with useful information to go to the police instead of polluting the airwaves.
The late Major Mahama was attacked by some irate youth of Denkyira-obuasi on May 29, 2017 killing him instantly whiles on anti-galamsey duty.
He left behind a 26-year-old wife, Barbara and two kids who are four and two years respectively, Major Mahama is expected to be laid to rest tomorrow June 9, 2017.
