Fan dies celebrating Black Stars' victory

Accra, Ghana - A Ghanaian football fan has died of the injuries he sustained in an accident while celebrating Sunday's 1-0 victory of the national football team, the Black Stars, over Serbia in the 2010 World Cup.

The state-owned Daily Graphic reported on Tuesday that the fan lost control of his motor cycle while celebrating the victory at Bolgatanga in Upper East region and ran into two other motor cycles.

He was rushed to the Bolgatanga Hospital but he died on Monday morning.

The Black Stars' victory, the first by an African team at the World Cup, elicited wild celebrations in Ghana and across Africa.
