Farmer Urges Equal Opportunity For Women

Techiman (Brong Ahafo Region), 13 Sept., The National Chairman of the Techiman District branch of the Ghana Tree Farmers' Association (GATFA), Mr. Kofi Owusu-Achiaw, has said that women should be given equal opportunity in every human endeavour. He said gone are the days when women were relegated to the background and were perceived as only fit for the kitchen. Mr. Owusu-Achiaw was addressing members of the association shortly before an election for new executive. Mr. Matthew Takyi was elected District Chairman with Miss Mary Ameyaa, as Vice-Chairperson. Other executive members elected were Mr. Eric Oppong Yeboah-Afari, Secretary and Miss Doris Owusuaah, Treasurer. Mr. Owusu-Achiaw announced plans to inaugurate the national association and called on all local, district and regional associations to brace themselves for the challenges ahead.
