Farmer defiles three-year-old girl through the anus

Asamankese (E/R), May 20, GNA - The Asamankese Circuit Court on Tuesday remanded in prison custody a 24-year-old farmer who appeared before it, charged with having anal sex with a three-year-old girl. Isaac Boamah pleaded guilty and will re-appear in court on June 6. Police Inspector Francis Cobbina, prosecuting, told the court that Boamah used to stay in the same house at Akyem Bomso with the parents of the little girl, who also knew him well.

He said on May 6 at about 0700 hours, the mother and the child were in the house and as Boamah passed by, the girl cried out wanting to follow him.

Inspector Cobbina said the mother entrusted the girl in Boamah's care and went to the farm.

He said Boamah sent the girl back to the mother at about 1530 hours when she returned from the farm. The prosecutor said while the mother was bathing the child later, she detected that the girl felt pains any time she touched her anal area.

Upon questioning, the girl mentioned Boamah as the one responsible for her pains.

He said medical examination on the girl at the Kade Government Hospital confirmed that the baby had been defiled through the anus. Inspector Cobbina said Boamah admitted committing the offence in his caution statement to the police. 20 May 09
